RESULTS: The most frequently mentioned therapeutic techniques include myofascial release, manual therapy, and trigger point deactivation, all of which have been associated with beneficial effects for patients with tension headaches. CONCLUSION: Despite the need for more studies to better understand the mechanisms of action of manual therapies, the results so far are promising and indicate that these non-pharmacological approaches can be an effective alternative in the management of tension headaches.
