OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic treatment through manual therapy in tension-type headaches. METHODOLOGY: A literature review was carried out between the months of February and May 2024, using the following research question: What are the benefits presented with the influence of myofascial release and manual therapies in the treatment of tension-type headaches? RESULTS: The most frequently mentioned therapeutic techniques include myofascial release, manual therapy, and trigger point deactivation, all of which have been associated with beneficial effects for patients with tension headaches. CONCLUSION: Despite the need for more studies to better understand the mechanisms of action of manual therapies, the results so far are promising and indicate that these non-pharmacological approaches can be an effective alternative in the management of tension headaches. | pt_BR |

| pt_BR |
