| Resumo: | INTRODUÇÃO: A acreditação hospitalar é um processo voluntário de análise, avaliação, e educação, promovida por órgãos acreditadores em instituições de saúde, para a ampliação da qualidade e segurança dos serviços. OBJETIVOS: Identificar as dificuldades enfrentadas para a implantação, a manutenção e a evolução da acreditação hospitalar. METODOLOGIA: Estudo descritivo, com cunho revisão narrativa da literatura, com recorte temporal de 2017 a 2021. RESULTADOS: O processo de Acreditação hospitalar tornou-se uma grande estratégia competitiva. O déficit de suporte da alta direção, alternadamente com a limitação de ordem estrutural traz sentimentos negativos aos trabalhadores envolvidos e limitações. CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS: O processo de acreditação é complexo e exige comprometimento por parte de toda a instituição de saúde. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Acreditação Hospitalar. | Abstract: | INTRODUCTION: Hospital accreditation is a voluntary process of analysis, evaluation, and education, promoted by accrediting bodies in health institutions, to increase the quality and safety of services. OBJECTIVES: To identify the difficulties faced in the implementation, maintenance, and evolution of hospital accreditation. METHODOLOGY: Descriptive study, with a narrative review of the literature, with a time frame from 2017 to 2021. RESULTS: The hospital Accreditation process has become a major competitive strategy. The deficit of support from top management, alternately with the limitation of a structural nature, brings negative feelings to the workers involved and limitations. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The accreditation process is complex and requires commitment from the entire health institution. KEYWORDS: Hospital Accreditation. Accreditation of Health Institutions.
