Abstract: INTRODUCTION: The maxillary sinus lift has been proposed as an effective alternative and promising results in the availability of bone height and volume for the realization of dental implants, mainly in regions with great bone atrophy. The most diverse techniques have been employed and with them the great questions regarding the use of grafting materials and their benefits. The use of second-generation platelet concentrates, L-PRF and P-PRF, have been increasingly present in clinical practice, however there are still doubts regarding their benefits, risks and which are the best protocols for their use when associated with the survey of the maxillary sinus for the preparation of rehabilitations with dental implants. In the midst of these issues, more and more studies have been carried out on this topic. This review aimed at compiling such information, so that, in an objective and cohesive manner, it could provide the dental surgeon with tools to assist him in making decisions regarding the use of L-PRF. A search was carried out in the electronic databases Pubmed and Google Scholar, from September to December 2022, without time or language restriction, using the following terms: Maxillary Sinus; maxillary sinus lift; sinus floor augmentation; Sinus lift; Platelet-Rich Fibrin. After analyzing the available literature, it was found that there is no evidence strong enough to support the claim that the use of L- PRF or P-PRF can improve the effectiveness of procedures for lifting the maxillary sinus, especially with regard to the increase of bone volume, although it is a consensus that such aggregates provide considerable reduction in healing time and tissue regeneration.
