Conhecimento de gestantes de um grupo de atendimento em Anicuns-Go sobre aleitamento materno

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to investigate the perception of pregnant women about breastfeeding and aspects related to breastfeeding in a course of pregnant women offered by the Women's Secretariat of the city of Anicuns-GO. The research had methodological characteristics of cross - sectional observational research of correlation, offering a comprehensive and descriptive view of the phenomena to be studied. The methodological approach that will guide this research work will be of a quantitative nature. The sample was characterized by a total of 37 participants, by women aged 15-38 years, of which 43.24% had secondary education and 70.27% were married. According to the survey, 94.60% of the mothers received information on breastfeeding and 70.28% were instructed in the course of pregnant women. Although the mothers were informed, only 8.10% showed an advantage of breastfeeding for the mother and 24.32% for the anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding. The correct handle and suction was remembered by 48.65% of pregnant women as a factor that increases milk production. Regarding the milk decision, 21.62% mentioned that it may be up to four days after delivery, 64.86% stated that they should start breastfeeding within the first hour of life. About the interval between breastfeeds, 56.76% answered that whenever the baby wants and about the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, 62.16% say they are up to six months of life. It is concluded that a continuous investment is necessary and the involvement of professionals trained and interested in practicing the theory, taking the knowledge to itself and to the other, playing the role of multiplier agents of information and to support, concretely, the practice of breastfeeding.
