N: Fibromyalgia syndrome (FM) and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) has as main feature the presence of chronic pain and may share common aspects, in the pathophysiology and clinical features. The association between TMD and FM has been reported through clinical studies. OBJECTIVES: Evaluate the reduction of painful symptoms of patients with Fibromyalgia Research project: "Evaluation of patients with temporomandibular disorders" that happened in dentistry school of the Federal University of Goiás with the treatment of TMD. METHODOLOGY: patients with TMD and FM were evaluated at the UFG Dentistry Clinic. Once TMD was diagnosed, the patient was molded and the models were mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator, in which planning was carried out. system, this can be by oral rehabilitation, with restorations or prostheses, occlusal adjustment by selective wear and pathologies inherent to TMJ. RESULTS: 88.23% of the cases evaluated were successful in the treatment, with the reduction of painful symptoms. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: In order to reestablish the patient's well-being and offer quality of life to him with new therapeutic approaches, it is important to investigate the relationship between a fibromyalgia syndrome and temporomandibular disorder, as thus, a range of new forms of treatment can open up and promote always well-being. It is known that the symptoms of both pathologies are similar, forms of treatments can also bring satisfactory results. However, the research aims to seek to investigate this relationship so that it can reconcile its therapeutic forms in order to be successful in treatment.pt_BR
