N: The Laser is an application of light by emission stimulated by radiation, which is magnetic, but not ionizing, composed of photons, making a propagation by oscillation in waves of electrons - volt through a reflector. The light emitted by the laser shows reflection, scattering, absorption and transmission, that is, not all the light emitted will be absorbed by the tissues. The laser as a therapy has been very important for dentistry, since it has a therapeutic power that helps in healing. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is to analyze, based on the literature review, the understanding of the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy in children. METHODOLOGY: This literature review recommends an investigation through bibliographic research, to prove the effectiveness of the laser for the benefit of pediatric dentistry. RESULTS: In view of the literature review study, it was found that laser therapy is a revolutionary therapy and that through it, one can have the proof and that it is increasingly known and used. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Therefore, it is important that the use of the laser as a therapy is expanded so that it optimizes and contributes to the repair of injured tissues and enables the patient's well-being.pt_BR
